This workshop is based on Dr. Gottman’s four decades of relationship research.

Scientifically analyzed, all types of couples repeatedly demonstrated the significance of the little moments.

These moments fill the heart and soul of a strong, harmonious, and long-lasting relationship.

At the core of his research, there is a simple truth- Happy relationships are rooted in deep friendship.

Benefits of Participating

There are many benefits of The Seven Principles Couples Program. These include:

  • It provides structure, motivation, and accountability to work on your relationship.

  • It may be less threatening than seeking couples therapy. While The Seven Principles Couples Program is not a substitute for therapy, it can soften the entry into working on your relationship and getting help without the stigma that some still have toward seeking therapy. It can also become a bridge into therapy for those couples that desire more personal assistance than the workshop can provide.

  • A workshop format encourages both partners to work on their relationship rather than one partner alone reading the book without the other partner’s participation.

  • The Seven Principles Couples Program provides a great opportunity for pre-marital couples to learn skills that can enrich their relationship through a lifetime together.

Who is the Workshop for?

Nearly Newlywed couples include:

  • Pre-engaged couples (those considering marriage).

  • Engaged or Premarital couples (those taking steps towards marriage).

Frequently Asked Questions

Will we have to share our personal problems and issues in the workshop? No. The workshop does not include sharing problems or issues publicly. Couples Exercises are done privately.

Must both partners attend or can I come alone? Since the workshop involves couples doing exercises together, both partners must participate.

My partner isn’t a reader. Can we still come to the workshop if they won’t read the book? Yes, still come to the workshop. While the book provides very valuable information, the workshop will summarize the content of the book. Each person will need a Couples Guide (included), however, to do the Couples Exercises efficiently.

Should we do the exercises in the book at home or save them for the workshop? The workshop will involve doing some of the exercises from the book so doing them first at home would duplicate some of them. In some cases, the directions for doing the exercises in the workshop have been revised and updated from those presented in the Seven Principles book. I will also role-play how to – and how not to – do some of the exercises in order to help participants get the most out of each exercise. There are some exercises in the book that the workshop will not have time to do, and couples are encouraged to do them at home after that chapter has been covered in the workshop.

Is this workshop the same as couples therapy? No, this is an educational workshop; this is not therapy. This workshop is psycho-educational, meaning that it was designed to serve as teaching and guidance for you and your partner and is not couples therapy.

What is the cost and how do we register? The Workshop is $750.00 per couple. To register, please, contact Dr. Trujillo through the Contact Form. You and your partner will be given access to a secure portal. This portal will house various forms, some of which require signatures (registration, disclaimers). This portal will also be used for processing credit card payments. Payment plans are available. The workshop must be paid in full 3 weeks prior to the workshop date.

What is the cancellation policy? If you must cancel please do so three weeks prior to the workshop date. A full refund minus a $50 processing fee will be given. For cancellations thereafter, the registration fee is non-refundable but transferable. You will have the opportunity to register for a different date within 12 months of the registration date instead. All workshops are enrolled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
